Chris Karas is a Brooklyn-based Audio Engineer and Musician. He primarily works with local independent artists of different styles. His recording style is organic, often taking an old-school approach and combining it with convenience
of modern technology.
As a young child, Chris had a deep affinity for music, brought up on music from artists such as the Beatles, Frank Sinatra, Led Zeppelin, and Metallica. Then, at seven years old, Chris began learning how to play the guitar. This decision catapulted him from being a lover of music to a musician.
When he was in high school, Chris joined his school’s music program. It was there that he found his love for recording. From setting up mics on a drum kit to mixing live performances, Chris found his place in audio production. Finding whatever equipment he could get his hands on, Chris soon set up his little studio in his bedroom. He would spend late nights capturing his guitar riffs rather than working on school assignments.
Chris would eventually attend Berklee College of Music in the spring of 2017. After that, his musical career began to flourish, meeting musicians from all walks of life. Chris played and toured with several bands, in addition to recording various artists in his small Boston apartment. Chris’ love for recording brought him the idea of starting his recording studio in the future. He felt that modern music was too manufactured and polished and that artists and bands had lost their edge.
Chris believes that beauty in music stems from its imperfections, from moments captured before the start of a song to an improvised masterpiece that no one can replicate. Chris wants to be there to preserve humanity in music while delivering quality work to artists.
